PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. — Senior captain Ryann Foster will represent the LSU women’s tennis team at the 2017 Riviera/ITA Women’s All-American Championships at the Riviera Tennis Club, beginning with qualifying competition on Tuesday at 12:45 p.m. CT.
Foster bypassed the pre-qualifying portion of competition and earned an automatic bid to the qualifying round of 64, where she will face off against No. 69-ranked Stanford sophomore Emily Arbuthnott.
This will be Foster’s second match against a highly ranked opponent so far during the fall season, having already squared off against 12th-ranked Josie Kuhlman of Florida in a closely-contested three-set battle at the Hall of Fame ITA Grass Court Invitational in September.
Foster put on an impressive performance at the All-American Championships as a junior last season, advancing through the entire pre-qualifying round and defeating two ranked opponents across pre-qualifying and qualifying competition along the way.
