GREENVILLE, S.C. – Junior Kathleen Gallagher posted a 1-over par 73 on Sunday in the final of the Lady Paladin Invitational to finish as the top scorer for LSU. Gallagher finished the season opener with an 11-over 227 in the three-day tournament.
The Lady Tigers ended the tournament in 15th place with a 916 (+52), shooting 302 (+14) on Sunday. Host Furman was the only team to post under par on the Furman University Golf Club course at 7-under par 857. Daytona State, who had led the field for two days, finished second with a 3-over 867.
Freshman Mary Frances Chauvin also posted a 1-over 73 on the final day to tie with sophomore Monica Dibildox for second on the team with an overall score of 231 (+15).
LSU returns to action on Sunday, Oct. 1 for the three-day Magnolia Invitational, hosted by Mississippi State at Old Waverly Golf Club in West Point, Mississippi. Live scoring is available at GolfStat.com.
