BATON ROUGE – With four wins from their first four matches of the season, the LSU Tigers look to continue their hottest start in a decade Sunday night when they play host to Austin Peay in a newly-scheduled match kicking off at 6 p.m. CT at the LSU Soccer Stadium. Admission is free as the gates will open at 5 p.m.

Sunday’s match marks the inaugural meeting between the two sides as the Tigers (4-0) and Governors (3-1) made arrangements Friday after previously-scheduled matches were canceled due to weather.

Fans unable to attend the match can receive live updates by following @LSUSoccer on Twitter at http://twitter.com/lsusoccer and Instagram at http://instagram.com/lsusoccer and also by liking the LSU Soccer page on Facebook at http://facebook.com/lsusoccer. George Washington will also provide live stats through its official athletics website at http://www.gwsports.com.

Free 2017 LSU Soccer Team Autograph Photos will be handed out to fans entering the LSU Soccer Stadium on Sunday night, while free popcorn vouchers will be given to fans returning their LSU Soccer vuvuzelas.

The Tigers remain off to their fastest start to a season since 2008 after traveling to Washington, D.C., on Thursday and bringing home a 2-0 win at George Washington. They have scored 12 goals without reply over their four wins after opening the season with a 5-0 home win over Mississippi Valley State on Aug. 18 followed by a 3-0 away win at Colgate on Aug. 20 and a 2-0 home win over Lamar on Aug. 25.

Austin Peay is off to a hot start of their own with wins in each of their last three outings entering Sunday’s match. That includes consecutive 2-1 wins over Middle Tennessee State and Western Kentucky before the 1-0 home win over Lipscomb last Sunday. The Governors’ home match against Georgia State on Friday was canceled due to weather in the Nashville area.

Second-Team All-Ohio Valley Conference forward Kirstin Robertson leads the line for the visitors as she has already bagged three goals in 2017 after leading the team in scoring with 11 goals in her 2016 campaign.

Tinaya Alexander‘s opener in the sixth minute of LSU’s 2-0 win at George Washington two nights ago proved to be her second match-winner and third goal of her freshman season as she later assisted Zoe Higgins‘ goal in the 26th minute for her team-leading fourth assist in four starts. Alexander is tied as the SEC’s second-leading point scorer with 10 and assist maker with four to this point of the season.

Higgins’ three goals is level with Alexander as LSU’s leading goal scorer on the year, while junior Alex Thomas and freshman Dana Reed have each netted twice and senior Nicole Howard and freshman Lucy Parker both have one goal apiece in the early going.

Redshirt junior Caroline Brockmeier is the first LSU goalkeeper to keep four-straight clean sheets to open a season as she has saved all 22 shots on target she has faced through four matches. She ranks No. 6 on the all-time career list at LSU with 11 shutouts in her 23 starts over the last two seasons.

After welcoming Austin Peay to Baton Rouge on Sunday night, the Tigers will be back on the road next week with a trip to Orlando, Florida, on Friday to face No.24-ranked Central Florida with kickoff set for 6 p.m. CT at the UCF Soccer Complex. They then open up a three-game homestand against Liberty University on Sunday, Sept. 10, with kickoff set for 6 p.m. CT at the LSU Soccer Stadium.
