BATON ROUGE – After having its previously-scheduled match against the University of Houston canceled in the wake of Hurricane Harvey, the undefeated LSU Soccer program has added a home match against Austin Peay on Sunday night with kickoff scheduled for 6 p.m. CT at the LSU Soccer Stadium.
Sunday’s clash will mark the inaugural meeting between the two teams as the Tigers (4-0) and Governors (3-1) of the Ohio Valley Conference are both off to strong starts to their respective seasons.
LSU won its fourth-straight match to start the season on Thursday afternoon with a 2-0 away win at George Washington in Washington, D.C. In fact, the Tigers have kept a clean sheet in each of their first four games to start a season for the first time in program history after opening with a 5-0 home win over Mississippi Valley State on Aug. 18 before blanking Colgate, 3-0, away on Aug. 20 and Lamar, 2-0, at home on Aug. 25.
