AUBURN, Ala.— The LSU men’s tennis team begins a two-match SEC road swing with a contest against No. 50 Auburn, Friday at 3 p.m. CT at the Yarbrough Tennis Center.

Thoughts from Coach Brown
“The Auburn match has been one of the best matches of the year for the past 15 seasons,” head coach Jeff Brown said. “It brings out the best in the players, and we expect that from them going in to this match as well.”
The Matchup
LSU has a 33-16 all-time record against Auburn, and the Tigers last met in 2016 when LSU defeated Auburn 5-2 in a ranked matchup at the LSU Tennis Complex.
Tiger Tidbits
The Tigers collected their second SEC win of the year with a 4-3 win against Ole Miss last Sunday. They followed that match with a two-match sweep of Jackson State to give LSU some momentum going into the road weekend.
LSU has two Tigers listed in the ITA singles rankings—No. 44 Jordan Daigle and No. 76 Justin Butsch. The seniors are also ranked No. 39 in doubles, marking their first appearance this season in the rankings.
Butsch has 13 wins overall in the dual season, sophomore Nikola Samardzic has 11 individual wins across courts 1-5 and Daigle has nine wins on the No. 1 court this season.
Notes on Auburn
Auburn is eighth in the league with a 12-10 record overall and a 3-5 league record. Max Hinnisdaels sports a 7-9 record on court one this season and is No. 62 in the ITA rankings. The senior and his partner Conner Huertas del Pino sit No. 15 overall on the doubles court. The pair has a 10-5 record overall and a 3-3 record in conference play.
Last week, Auburn hosted Tennessee and Georgia. The Tigers went 1-1 over the weekend, defeating Tennessee 5-2 and falling to Georgia 4-0.
