BATON ROUGE, La. – The No. 8 ranked LSU beach volleyball team (6-5) travels to Fort Worth, Texas this weekend to take part in the Horned Frog Challenge on the TCU Courts on Friday and Saturday.

The team will square off against No. 11 Arizona State and TCU on Friday at 12:15 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. CT. On Saturday, LSU will face No. 7 Arizona before wrapping up the weekend with a rematch against the Lady Sun Devils at 1:30 p.m. CT.

“We can’t wait to get back out in the sand. It was fun to play at home and to play well last weekend. We are excited to carry that momentum into this weekend’s competition,” said head coach Russell Brock. “We had a great couple of days of practice to focus on some things that we know can make us better.”

LSU is led by No. 1 pair Claire Coppola and Kristen Nuss. Last weekend, the duo swept the Tiger Beach Challenge, picking up big wins over No. 10 South Carolina and Florida International. Nuss and Coppola are 9-2 this season, holding a seven-match winning streak. The tandem has also notched four wins against top-10 competition.

On court three, Katie Lindelow and Olivia Powers have also been impressive after partnering at the East vs. West tournament earlier in the season. Lindelow and Powers have picked up six-straight wins as a pair, compiling a 6-2 record together.

Last weekend, Cati Leak and Maddie Ligon also collected their sixth match. The pair has defeated three ranked teams and were the only pair to notch a point against No. 2 Florida State at the Stetson Invitational.

Heading into the slate of matches, LSU has won five of its last six matches, and the Lady Tigers only losses have come to top-10 opponents this season.

“These matches are against some very talented and highly ranked teams,” added Brock. “We’ve seen a lot of that lately, and we are looking forward to this challenge.”
