Track & Field Alumni Banquet RSVPs Due April 1

BATON ROUGE – April 1 is the deadline for alumni to RSVP for the upcoming LSU Track & Field Team Awards and Alumni Recognition Banquet being held on the night of Friday, April 21, at the Renaissance Baton Rouge Hotel on Bluebonnet Blvd.

Banquet festivities begin at 7:30 p.m. CT with an alumni-only social following the event. Alumni interested in attending the banquet have until April 1 to RSVP by completing this online form.

A room block at the Renaissance Baton Rouge Hotel is also available for alumni looking to make a hotel reservation for Alumni Weekend as accommodations can be reserved at this location.

Now entering its seventh year, the LSU Track & Field Team Awards and Alumni Recognition Banquet is a true celebration of the rich history and tradition of the NCAA’s most storied combined track and field program as the Tigers and Lady Tigers welcome their decorated alumni back to Baton Rouge for the festivities.

The seventh-annual banquet this spring will be no exception as the program will recognize the women from the “Decade of Dominance” when the Lady Tiger won an unprecedented 11-straight NCAA Outdoor national championships from 1987-97. All alumni in attendance for the LSU Alumni Gold meet the following day on Saturday, April 22, will also be recognized.

The seventh LSU Track & Field Team Awards and Alumni Recognition Banquet this spring will also honor the current Tigers and Lady Tigers for their outstanding performances during the 2015 cross country, 2016 indoor and 2016 outdoor seasons, highlighted by the announcements of the Most Outstanding Female Performer Award and Glenn “Slats” Hardin Award winners.

The banquet debuted in 2010 with the goal of honoring the current members of the LSU Track & Field program for their achievements in competition, in the classroom and in the community, as well as recognize alumni who have laid the foundation of success that is enjoyed by the program to this day as the Tigers and Lady Tigers compete in the 2017 season.
