BATON ROUGE. — The LSU men’s tennis team will play three matches Sunday as it faces No. 27 Vanderbilt at 11:30 a.m. and Alcorn State at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. at the LSU Tennis Complex.

Thoughts from Coach Brown
“Vanderbilt has put together a solid year so far,” head coach Jeff Brown said. “They are coming off a loss on Friday to Texas A&M.”
“Our guys understand how close we are, the belief is still there. If we keep putting in the same effort, eventually it will turn into a good solid win streak for us.”
The Matchup
LSU currently has a 2-9 record on the season and is 0-3 in conference while Vanderbilt is 9-6 and 1-2 in the SEC.
The Tigers have a 40-27-1 overall record against the Commodores. Last season, LSU defeated Vanderbilt 5-2 at the LSU Tennis Complex in regular season but fell 4-2, in the SEC Tournament.
Last Time Out
The Tigers fell to No. 18 Kentucky, 5-2, Friday at the LSU Tennis Complex.
No. 47 Jordan Daigle notched his third consecutive match against a ranked opponent and fourth-straight match after defeating No. 28 William Bushamuka. The senior is tied with Justin Butsch with six dual season victories.
Daigle and Butsch defeated Beck Pennington and Enzo Wallert, 6-3, and Gabor Csonka and Julian Saborio fought back to defeat Ryotaro Matsumura and Trey Yates, 7-5, to give LSU the doubles point.
Notes on the Commodores
Vanderbilt’s Cameron Klinger is ranked 29th in the nation in singles, and he and partner Pen Binet are the 37th doubles duo.
Klinger has a 24-6 overall record and is 11-2 on the dual season. He sports a 5-2 record on court one and has a perfect 6-0 record on court two.
