Gymnastics Receives Fifth Scholarship Endowment

BATON ROUGE – Thanks to the work of head coach D-D Breaux and the 40 years of dedication to LSU, Tiger Athletic Foundation (TAF) has received the LSU gymnastics program’s fifth scholarship endowment.

The announcement was made in a ceremony during Sunday’s meet against Florida. Kelly Spears, a 1994 graduate of LSU, was recognized for the Jones-Spears Family Scholarship.

“The reason I support LSU Athletics and in particular this gymnastics scholarship is because these amazing girls are my daughter’s role models,” Spears said. “These student athletes will be the future leaders of our communities and I want to support them in fulfilling their dreams,”

Tiger Athletic Foundation (TAF) is a private, nonprofit, corporation dedicated to supporting LSU and its Athletic Program. TAF is exempt from federal income tax under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

Over the past 30 years, TAF’s members have enhanced the lives of every student-athlete on every team by providing financial support for programs and facilities that ensure the opportunity to win in the classroom, on the field, and in life.
