GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The LSU men’s tennis team finishes its road swing to open the conference slate with a match against the No. 13 Florida Gators Sunday at Noon at the Ring Tennis Complex.

Thoughts from Coach Brown
“I feel like we are close to getting a complete match from top to bottom,” head coach Jeff Brown said. “We are coming off of a tough match to lose at South Carolina, but Florida is our next opportunity to put it all together.”
The Matchup
LSU currently has a 2-7 record on the season and is 0-1 in the SEC while Florida owns a 7-5 record and is 0-1 in conference.
The Tigers have a 28-29-1 overall record against the Gators. Last season Florida defeated LSU 4-3 at the LSU Tennis Complex.
Last Time Out
The Tigers opened SEC play with a hard fought, 4-3, loss at South Carolina.
Senior Jordan Daigle notched his second-straight win on court one and his second win of the year against a ranked opponent after he defeated No. 43 Gabriel Friedrich.
No. 41 Justin Butsch is also on a two-match win streak. The senior owns a team-best five wins in the dual season.
The Tigers earned their third doubles point of the season in the loss. Newly paired Daigle and Julian Saborio earned their first win on the doubles court, and Butsch and Gabor Csonka also notched a win on court two.
Notes on Florida
Florida dropped its SEC opener to No. 27 Texas A&M , 4-3.
The Gators have three men in the ITA Rankings. Alfredo Perez is No. 6, Elliot Orkin is No. 92 and Jordan Belga is No. 120.
Doubles duo Johannes Ingildsen and Alfredo Perez are ranked ninth in the country in doubles.
