BATON ROUGE, La. – Coming off of a perfect weekend of action the LSU softball team remains in the top 10 of the national polls, keeping its place at No. 7 in the NFCA poll and No. 8 in the USA Softball poll.
The Tigers were 5-0 last week with wins over Louisiana Tech, Georgia Southern and Central Arkansas, improving the team’s record to 9-1 on the year.
LSU will get its first stout test of the season when the team hits the road this week to take part in the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic in Cathedral City beginning on Thursday. There, LSU will face its first two ranked opponents of the season in UCLA coming in at No. 6 and Utah at No. 17.
