Thoughts from Coach Brown
“Last year we had great matches against Rice,” head coach Jeff Brown said. “They beat us in the regular season, and we defeated them in the NCAA Tournament. We both return people from those squads. It will be a difficult match for both teams. We are going to be very focused and ready to go on Sunday.”

The Matchup
LSU currently has a 1-5 record on the season while Rice has a 5-4 dual season record.

The Tigers have a 17-17-2 overall record against the Owls. LSU and Rice last met in the first round of the 2016 NCAA Tournament. The Tigers defeated Rice 4-3.

Notes on the Tigers
On Thursday, Gabor Csonka notched his first win of the dual season against Tulane’s Luis Erlenbusch.

The Tigers won the doubles point for the second time this season against Tulane when the Tigers collected wins on court one and two from Daigle and Butsch and Csonka and Saborio, respectively.

Justin Butsch is currently ranked 41st and holds onto a 3-0 match streak. Jordan Daigle is currently ranked 94th and has a 2-2 record on court one.
