BATON ROUGE — With no scheduled matches the past weekend, the LSU women’s tennis team will return to match play against South Florida at the LSU Tennis Complex Friday at 4 p.m.
The South Florida match will be LSU’s fifth home match of the season, and the third of four straight home matches to open the month of February.
The Tigers are undefeated at home so far this season and have not droppedHa singles or doubles point, outscoring their opponents by a combined 23-0 at the LSU Tennis Complex.
Freshman Jade Lewis joined the latest edition of the ITA rankings at No. 35 and Joana Valle Costa is ranked No. 63, while Ryann Foster jumped 18 spots to No. 65.
Lewis is 5-0 in singles this season with three wins over ranked opponents on court one. Foster has a 17-4 overall record and is the midst of a nine-match win streak. As a team, LSU is 24-3 in singles play and 11-2 in doubles on the dual season.
South Florida is coached by Cristina Moros in her second year with the team. The Bulls are 4-3 this season.
