Alex Box Stadium Policies for 2017 Season

BATON ROUGE, La. – With the baseball season opener just a few days away, LSU issued on Monday an update to fans about new policies and features that will be implemented at Alex Box Stadium beginning on Friday:

Safety and Security – “Geaux Clear”
LSU Athletics implemented a clear bag policy to enhance the overall safety and security of Alex Box Stadium. Fans should visit the website www.lsusports.net/geauxclear for all the information about allowable types of bags and FAQs.

A few items of note in the Geaux Clear Policy:

  • Please minimize the items needed for the game.
  • All backpacks are not allowed.
  • Blankets may be brought into the stadium, but should be carried under the arm or over the shoulder.
  • Seat cushions are allowed as long as they do not have pockets, and they are no larger than 16 inches.  Seat backs are allowed with the same parameters, and they may not infringe on the comfort of those seated around them.

Visit the link below for more information about the Geaux Clear policy here.

Fans are reminded, “if you see something, say something.”  Please report any unruly or suspicious activities or behaviors to Stadium Event Staff or Law Enforcement.

Tickets
Individual-game tickets may be purchased by visiting www.LSUtix.net. The Alex Box Stadium ticket office opens two hours prior to first pitch on game days.

Parking
The Golf Course lot is now utilized for game-by-game parking. The old pitch-and-putt area of the golf course will be offered to fans as a reserved parking area and sold on a game-by-game basis. There has been a high demand for reserved parking near the stadium and the current reserved lots are sold out (Bullpen, Champions, Hall of Fame, and Home Run Village).

There will be a limited number of permits available for advance sales for every game and these can be purchased by going to www.LSUtix.net. The passes are $10 each for all home games and the Golf Course lot will be open beginning three hours prior to each game. Cash and credit cards will be accepted.

Free ADA parking is available on a limited basis, in the Hall of Fame, Champions and Bullpen lots on a first-come, first-serve basis.  A state-issued ADA Hangtag must be presented for access. Once these limited ADA spots are filled up, additional parking is available in the Hayfield lot with a shuttle that drops patrons off in front of Alex Box Stadium.

Fans traveling in motorhomes are encouraged to park in the back of lot 406.  Due to construction and student parking in lot 404, there is limited space available in this lot.  Parking for motorhomes is available beginning at 5 p.m. on Fridays.

Guest Services
LSU Athletics has partnered with Landmark Event Staffing and Security.  LSU Athletics seek to provide a fan friend environment and a high level of customer service – if you have an issue, please be sure to speak with one of the ushers in the stadium.

Fans are encouraged to review all of the baseball policies in the 2017 LSU Baseball Fan Guide at www.LSUsports.net/fanguides

Audio Streaming/Social Media
For the first time, all baseball audio streaming is FREE on www.LSUsports.net/live and in the official LSU Sports Mobile Apps.

Fans are also invited to follow the Tigers on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

See You at “The Box”
Alex Box Stadium, Skip Bertman Field will begin its ninth season as the Tigers’ home on Friday, when LSU plays host to Air Force in the 2017 season opener. “The Box” was ranked as the No. 1 college baseball stadium in the nation in a D1 Baseball survey that was released in September.

D1 Baseball polled college baseball coaches and sports information directors from around the country. There were 163 votes cast, and “The Box” received 251 points to lead the survey as the nation’s best college ball park. LSU has led the nation in college baseball attendance for 21 consecutive seasons (1996-2016).
