BATON ROUGE— LSU men’s tennis seniors Justin Butsch and Jordan Daigle entered the Oracle/ITA National Men’s Singles Rankings Wednesday.
Last week, No. 41 Butsch earned his first win of the season on court one, defeating Santa Clara’s Robert Seby, 6-2, 6-4. Early in the season, he clinched the match against USF with a win on court two against No. 77 Peter Betran, 6-7, 6-4, 6-3. He has a 2-1 record on the dual season and has nine wins on the year.
No. 94 Daigle currently sports a 2-0 record on court one. He defeated back-to-back opponents in straight sets with wins against No. 35 Ryan Peniston of Memphis, 6-2, 7-5, and Sasha Gozun of South Florida, 6-3, 6-3.
LSU is 1-3 on the season and will take on North Florida, Friday, Feb. 10 at 4 p.m. CT.
