BATON ROUGE — After returning from their trip to Charlottesville, Va., for the ITA Kickoff Weekend, the LSU women’s tennis team will begin the month of February with four straight home matches, beginning with Memphis and North Florida this weekend at the LSU Tennis Complex.
LSU will host the Memphis Tigers Saturday at noon and the North Florida Ospreys Sunday at noon CT. The match against Memphis will be followed by a Kids Clinic for ages six through the eighth grade.
Fans in attendance at Saturday’s match will receive free LSU yo-yos and Sunday’s match features a free LSU notebook giveaway.
Junior Ryann Foster, one of four Tigers currently undefeated in singles play this spring, goes into the weekend carrying a seven-match winning streak dating back to the fall.
LSU has a 1-1 all-time record against Memphis with their last match coming in 1989. Hayden Perez has coached the Memphis women’s tennis team since 2014.
North Florida is coached by Mariana Cobra in her first season with the team, which had a 13-7 overall record last season and qualified for the NCAA tournament. LSU is 3-0 in their matches against North Florida in school history.
