HONOLULU, Hawaii — The LSU men’s tennis team is set to compete for the first time in 2017 at the Rainbow Warrior Invitational at the UH Tennis Complex.

The Tigers will begin competition Monday afternoon at 2 p.m. CT against players from Ole Miss and also will square off against competitors from Duke and Hawai’i in the three-day event.

“The players have been training well and are very eager to be back on the court and competing,” head coach Jeff Brown said. “This is a great experience for the team and have appreciated the opportunity.”

LSU will feature two doubles pairs each day and each of the players will compete in singles.

Freshman Eric Samuelsson will join the team in Hawaii in his first appearance as a Tiger since signing in November. The native of Ahus, Sweden, has competed in numerous ITF Futures events and has been ranked in the top-three in the 14,16 and 18 age groups in Sweden.

Sophomore Nikola Samardzic owns an 11-5 record on the tournament season to lead the team. Freshman Agie Moreno is 6-5, and senior Justin Butsch sports a 5-4 record.
