In the second of a series getting to know the LSU softball freshman class, we learn a little bit more about Amanda Doyle.
1. Why did you choose LSU?
I chose LSU because of the potential LSU Softball has to win a national championship. Being on a winning team has been a dream of mine, and LSU has given me that opportunity. LSU was set apart from any other school because of the “home” like feel it gives off. Before I got here, I was already a part of the family.
2. What do you like most about LSU?
The fan support is definitely one of my favorite things about LSU. They support the teams in everything we do. Plus, they put their hearts into the games. The softball staff is also something I really liked about LSU. They are there for you to make you better people and not just better softball players.
3. What is your favorite part about being an athlete at LSU/on the LSU Softball team?
There is nothing like being an athlete at LSU. Together, we form a community and watch/support each other at games. Being an athlete has helped me transition into college very easily. With the help of the team I have successfully eased into the fit of the role of a student-athlete at LSU.
4. What are your favorite hobbies outside of softball?
Outside of softball I like to watch other sports (pro and LSU teams). I also like to hang out with my friends and go shopping.
5. What does “ALL for LSU” mean to you?
To me, “ALL for LSU” means to put everything into the school, whether it’s on the field, in the classroom or in the community. You’re putting ALL of yourself into LSU. We, as a community, come together to support each other and push each other to be the best.
