In the first of a series getting to know the LSU softball freshman class, we learn a little bit more about Claire Weinberger.
1. Why did you choose LSU?
LSU first attracted me for their Veterinary Medical program reputation. LSU is also very close to home for me. When people think of LSU Softball, they picture the College World Series. Softball is known to be exceedingly successful at LSU.
2. What do you like most about LSU?
I love the dedication of the crazy fans; no matter what sport, LSU has the best support system. Tiger Park is one of the most striking venues in college softball, and I have the privilege to get to play/practice on that field every day. LSU is not your average college. Athletes are held to a higher standard because they represent LSU.
3. What is your favorite part about being an athlete at LSU/on the LSU Softball team?
I love being a part of a successfully known organization. LSU has multiple College World Series appearances. Athletes at LSU have great expectations for the high bars that they set, and I’m excited to continue that legacy.
4. What are your favorite hobbies outside of softball?
I like to sleep when I can or surround myself with my friends. I love animals so when there is a chance to help or be around them…I’m there.
5. What does “ALL for LSU” mean to you?
“ALL for LSU” to me means tunnel vision towards being a champion on the field and in the classroom; doing whatever it takes to be great. With the flood happening this year, LSU Athletics doesn’t just represent LSU but the entire State of Louisiana.
