TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The Lady Tigers had another strong overall showing in their third tournament of the fall as Skylar Holloway wrapped up the final day of the ITA Southern Regional hosted by the University of Alabama.

Holloway advanced all the way to the back draw finals match Monday where she gave an impressive effort in a remarkably close three-set match against Tiffany Mylonas of Louisiana-Monroe. After dropping the first set, Holloway fought back to win the second set 6-4, before the two finals participants battled out the third set to a score of 12-10 in favor of Mylonas.

“Even though today was a very disappointing loss, I couldn’t be more proud of Skylar for her attitude and effort this weekend,” said co-head coach Julia Sell. “She has never gone this far in a tournament before so today she got caught in fighting the mental fatigue and battling herself. It’s a huge learning experience for her and one that will only make her better and more motivated.”

Holloway and the rest of the Lady Tigers will look to carry that motivation into training in preparation for the LSU Fall Invitational, which will be hosted at the LSU Tennis Complex Nov. 11-13.
