Volleyball Returns to Road at Ole Miss

BATON ROUGE – Looking for its first Southeastern Conference win, the LSU volleyball team (5-10, 0-4 SEC) returns to the road to take on Ole Miss (12-4, 1-2 SEC) at 7 p.m. CT Wednesday at The Pavilion.

The matchup between the Tigers will be aired live on the SEC Network as well as streamed online through WatchESPN.com and the app. Pete Pranica and Missy Whittemore will call the action for the Network.

Flory’s Thoughts
“We took a lot of positives out of that third set on Sunday,” Fran Flory said. “There were five freshmen and one senior in the rotation and they really fought and competed hard against Missouri. This is their opportunity to really take hold of the team and show what we have in store for the future.”

Last Time Out
LSU dropped its fourth conference match Sunday, 3-0, against Missouri inside the Maravich Center. After getting into a 0-2 hole, Flory inserted all five freshmen into the rotation to provide a spark for the Tigers. LSU showed up in the third set on the offensive side with 15 attacks as well as on defense with five blocks and 16 digs. The Tigers clawed back into the match trying to force it to a fourth set with Mizzou ultimately taking the match.

The Rebels sit in ninth place in the league in a tie for eighth place at 1-2 in league play. Ole Miss’ lone win came Sunday, 3-2, over Arkansas.
