BATON ROUGE— The LSU men’s tennis team earned three top-125 rankings, including two inside of the top-50, Tuesday as the Intercollegiate Tennis Association released its preseason rankings.
Senior Jordan Daigle is ranked No. 35 in the nation, and senior Justin Butsch is No. 49. Junior Gabor Csonka rounded out the rankings at No. 125.
Butsch and Daigle also appeared in the ITA Doubles rankings at No. 28.
A two-time doubles All-American and All-SEC selection, Daigle competed solely on court one in 2015 and notched a 14-16 overall record, finishing the season ranked 56th. He also compiled five victories over ranked opponents during his junior campaign.
Butsch earned a spot on the All-SEC Second Team and LSWA All-Louisiana First Team after notching a team-high 24 singles wins overall and an impressive 8-3 record in singles in conference play during his third season.
Csonka notched a 22-11 overall singles record and an 11-9 dual season record during his first season with the Tigers and earned a spot on the 2016 LSWA All-Louisiana Second Team.
The Tigers begin their fall schedule Thursday, Sept. 22 in Lafayette, Lousiana, for the Cajun Classic, where Daigle will look to defend his singles title from 2015.
