Athletics Announces ‘ALL for LSU’ Campaign

BATON ROUGE – Fan engagement and interaction along with a consistent theme across all sports teams is the driving force for the year’s marketing campaign for the LSU athletic department and its 21 sports.

LSU officially launches the campaign today with the release of a unique “All for LSU” video as the Tigers prepare to open the 2016 football season against Wisconsin in historic Lambeau Field on Saturday afternoon.

“This campaign is more significant now than ever before,” LSU Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics Joe Alleva said. “After the month that our community has been through with the flooding and watching how our student-athletes, coaches and staff members came to the aid of so many who needed help, the “All for LSU” campaign captures what LSU athletics means to the state of Louisiana.”

With the focus of the campaign on the word “All”, LSU will call on its passionate fan base to be part of the marketing efforts. LSU will develop social media graphics and other promotional items that will allow fans to put themselves into the campaign.

“With all of the social media opportunities out there, we thought this would be a fun and creative way to let our fans become part of the campaign,” LSU Deputy Director of Athletics Eddie Nunez said. “The focus will still be on LSU and our teams and student-athletes, but giving our fans ownership in this campaign will help drive it. We think we have put together something that everyone will want to be a part of.”

Some examples of how the campaign will be put to use will be in the form of posters, social media graphics, outdoor billboards, videos, tickets, t-shirts and other unique items.

Plans are in the works for fans to be part of scoreboard and video board graphics during events as well as getting recognition for their creativity on LSU’s official social media platforms.

The double-meaning of the word “All” and it’s versatile use will be the focus of the campaign. Such examples include “All of Us” when describing a team or sport or “All Out” when talking about the effort put in by a student-athlete in preparing for competition.
