BATON ROUGE – LSU men’s tennis player Andrew Korinek was named an ITA Scholar-Athlete for the 2015-16 season, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced Thursday.
A two-time ITA Scholar-Athlete and SEC Academic Honor Roll member, Korinek graduated from the E.J. Ourso College of Business with a 3.546 GPA and a bachelor’s degree in marketing.
Korinek notched 10 singles wins and a 13-9 doubles record during his senior campaign. The three-year letterwinner compiled 40 singles wins and 37 doubles victories.
To earn ITA Scholar-Athlete Status, a player must be a varsity letterwinner, have a grade point average of at least 3.5 for the current academic year and have been enrolled at his present school for at least two semesters.
The ITA recognized more than 4,200 scholar-athletes in 2016 across all divisions of college tennis.
