LSU Places Seven on All-Louisiana Baseball Team

BATON ROUGE, La. – Seven LSU players were named this week to the 2016 Louisiana Sports Writers Association College Baseball Team. The Tigers have the most representatives on the team among Louisiana schools.

The team was selected by a panel of statewide media members and the state’s baseball sports information directors.

LSU pitcher Alex Lange, centerfielder Jake Fraley and rightfielder Antoine Duplantis were named to the first-team All-Louisiana squad. Shortstop Kramer Robertson, second baseman Cole Freeman, designated hitter Bryce Jordan and catcher Jordan Romero were voted to the second team.

Southeastern Louisiana first baseman Jameson Fisher was named Hitter of the Year and Northwestern State right-hander Adam Oller earned Pitcher of the Year recognition.

Louisiana Tech’s Greg Goff, who led the Bulldogs to their first berth in the NCAA Regionals since 1987, was the choice as Coach of the Year. Tulane’s Jeremy Montalbano was chosen as Newcomer of the Year while Green Wave teammate Ross Massey was named the state’s Freshman of the Year.
