Bradley Opens NCAA’s with Even-Par Round

EUGENE, Oregon – LSU senior Elise Bradley continued her strong post-season play with an even par round of 72 to stand in great shape in the individual competition after the first round of the NCAA Women’s Golf Championships at the Eugene Country Club.

Bradley was in a group T29 with the final wave on the course late Friday evening central time. The individual leader at the time after Haley Moore of Arizona and August Kim of Purdue both shot 4-under 68 on the par 72, 6,400-yard layout.

Bradley in the three rounds of the NCAA Regional in Baton Rouge and the first round of the NCAA Championships has now posted rounds of 72-72-69-72.

The Mandeville native, in her second NCAA competition, will be in the afternoon wave on Saturday in the second round of the competition starting at 2:55 p.m. CT.

Bradley had four birdies on the front nine with two bogeys to turn at 2-under par 35. She posted a 2-over 37 on the final nine holes.

“I was very pleased with what she did,” said LSU Head Coach Karen Bahnsen. “She hit the ball so well. She was 3-under at one point on the front side. On the back she had some ball that didn’t find the fairway so she couldn’t play as aggressively as she could.”

Bahnsen said the course was in great shape and was really set up fairly for the championship. “The greens are absolutely rolling fantastic.”
