BATON ROUGE, La. – LSU men’s tennis players Justin Butsch and Jordan Daigle were named to the All-SEC Second Team as announced by the league Thursday.
The juniors received honors after competing on the top three courts for the Tigers in the dual season.
Butsch has amassed a 14-8 record along with gaining 14 doubles wins with partners Tam Trinh and Nikola Samardzic. The No. 76 player in the nation has seen time on courts one, two and three this season.
Daigle spent his junior season exclusively on court one for the Tigers. Ranking as high as 22nd for the season, Daigle secured eight singles victories. Daigle and partner Boris Arias also have 15 wins and took down a No. 1 duo in Florida’s Gordon Watson and Diego Hidalgo earlier this season.
In 2014 Butsch was named to the SEC All-Freshman Team in addition to earning SEC Freshman of the Week honors in March. Last season, Daigle earned All-SEC First-Team accolades. LSU is one of three teams with multiple second-team honorees.
Butsch and Daigle were responsible for the only two wins in LSU’s 4-2 loss to Vanderbilt in the SEC tournament on courts one and two and will remain at LSU next year for their senior seasons.
