BATON ROUGE, La. – The No. 39 LSU men’s tennis team (13-9, 4-6 SEC) looks to match up against No. 20 Kentucky (17-6, 6-3 SEC) at 11 a.m. Sunday at the Hilary J. Boone Tennis Center in Lexington.

“Kentucky is having a great year,” head coach Jeff Brown said. “They have guys playing at a very high level and we are excited about this opportunity to compete against them. We are looking forward to it.”

Kentucky is coming off a 4-3 Friday night win over No. 10 Texas A&M. This marked the Wildcats’ sixth conference win and brings them to a two-match win streak. Kentucky boasts two ranked singles players in No. 24 William Bushamuka and No. 52 Ryotaro Matsamura.

The team also has one ranked doubles pair. Bushamuka, ranked 24th in singles, also makes up the No. 55 duo with partner Beck Pennington.

The Tigers are looking to keep the momentum from Friday’s victory over Tennessee. LSU earned a 4-3 win over the Volunteers where senior Boris Arias defeated Srdjan Jakovljevic on court five, 0-6, 6-2, 7-6 (7-5), to clinch.

LSU holds two ranked singles players in No. 79 Jordan Daigle and No. 95 Justin Butsch. Arias and Daigle make up the No. 11 doubles tandem in the country.

This match will mark senior day for the Wildcats, as they will hold a brief ceremony before the 11 a.m. start time.
