BATON ROUGE, La. – The No. 43 LSU men’s tennis team (8-5, 1-2 SEC), off of a 4-1 loss to No. 22 Ole Miss, returns to face No. 32 Arkansas (12-3, 2-1 SEC) Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Billingsley Tennis Center.
“Arkansas has been one of those teams that are kind of on fire right now, having beaten teams like Oklahoma and Texas A&M,” Head Coach Jeff Brown said. “We have to compete at our best in order for us to give ourselves the opportunity to get a win.”
The Razorbacks are coming off a huge 5-2 win over No. 7 Texas A&M Friday, which marked their second victory over a top-10 team this season. It also ended the Aggie’s four-match win streak.
For Arkansas, their only ranked singles player, No. 43 Mike Redlicki is on a six-match win streak after besting No. 14 Arthur Rinderknech of Texas A&M in Friday’s match. This win brought Redlicki to a 9-1 record for the year.
Last season, LSU took a 6-1 win over Arkansas in Baton Rouge.
LSU holds the No. 102 and No. 106 spots in singles from Jordan Daigle and Gabor Csonka, respectively. Both took losses against Ole Miss, Friday, on courts one and two.
The Tigers also have a top-10 ranked duo in No. 8 Boris Arias and Jordan Daigle. Arkansas’s ranked doubles pair, Giammarco Micolani and Mike Redlicki rest at No. 31 for the Razorbacks.
