BATON ROUGE, La. – The No. 42 LSU men’s tennis team (8-4) takes the road, to Oxford to face No. 22 Ole Miss (6-3) at 5 p.m. Friday at the Palmer/Salloum Tennis Center.

The Tigers, after getting two wins at home Sunday against No. 64 Auburn and Alcorn State, hope to keep their momentum going up against their next SEC foe.

“Any time you get back on the right track it feels good and makes practices a little crisper,” said Head Coach Jeff Brown. “Everybody has their heads up, is walking a little better and feels like we can build on it. We know the personnel in the SEC pretty well, so we know which teams we have better matchups against. There are not a lot of secrets between us and Ole Miss, but it’s a match we’re very hungry for.”

Weather permitting, the match will be played outdoors. If the match has to move indoors it will be played in the Gillom Sports Center, which would force it to be played in separate portions due to the facility only having three courts.

Gabor Csonka joins No. 102 Jordan Daigle in the rankings this week for the first time as a Tiger at No. 106. Csonka has won his last three matches against Tulane, Florida and Auburn. Duo Boris Arias and Daigle also moved up nine spots, to No. 8 after a win over the former No. 1 duo, Florida’s Gordon Watson and Diego Hidalgo.

On the Ole Miss side, ranked between LSU’s two singles players, Stefan Lindmark rests at No. 103. In doubles, Filip Kraljevic and Zvonimir Babic are ranked 48th.

Last season, LSU fell 4-3 in a close match against Ole Miss in Baton Rouge but hopes to find the victory this season in Mississippi.
