BATON ROUGE — The No. 32 LSU men’s tennis team is set to take on No. 66 Auburn and Alcorn State in Baton Rouge Sunday at 1 and 5 p.m at the LSU Tennis Complex.

“Auburn has been a big rival of ours,” LSU Head Coach Jeff Brown said. “We’ve always had real battles that come down to the end. Last year it came down to to the last match at their place, with us winning 4-3. We are expecting them to be very hungry just like we are to get back onto the right track after a tough loss to A&M Friday.”

LSU, in their match Friday, fell to No. 30 Florida but manage to take a big win over the No. 1 doubles team in a country on court one by the No. 17 LSU duo Jordan Daigle and Boris Arias.

The team struggled in singles but wins from freshman Nikola Samardzic and sophomore Gabor Csonka kept the Tigers just behind the No. 30 Gator team with a loss of 4-3 overall.

Auburn, coming off of a loss to No. 8 Texas A&M, heads to Baton Rouge with an 8-4 record and a No. 52 doubles team in Marko Krickovic and Edward Nguyen.

Alcorn State is also facing the Tigers with a recent loss to Mississippi College where they fell, 5-2.

This match hosts a crawfish giveaway with 500 lbs of boiled crawfish starting at 12:45 for fans to enjoy while watching the match.
