Gymnastics Receives First Scholarship Endowments

BATON ROUGE – Thanks to the generosity of several donors, the tireless efforts of Coach D-D Breaux and the success of current and former LSU gymnasts, Tiger Athletic Foundation (TAF) has received the first four scholarship endowments benefiting LSU Gymnastics in program history, it was announced at the gymnastics home finale against Alabama on Friday.

The two scholarships recognized at the meet Friday were the Godchaux Family Scholarship honoring Coach D-D Breaux and the Emma Kate/Strother/Daigle/Brown Scholarship honoring LSU Gymnastics and Connie Koury.

The TAF Foundation of Champions Scholarship Endowment program began in 1999 and has seen steady growth over its 17-year existence.

The purpose of the program is to provide a perpetual source of financial support for athletic scholarships through a general scholarship endowment fund. Earnings generated from the endowed scholarship fund will be used to offset the scholarship costs for current and future student-athletes.

As costs for scholarships continue to climb, building a healthy endowment is vital to the future success of LSU Athletics. Those interested in learning more about the program should contact the TAF Development office at 225-578-4823 or visit www.lsutaf.org/endowmentscholarships.
