CABO SAN LUCAS, Mexico – Freshman Nathan Jeansonne opened his final round with a hole-in-one on his very first shot of the day at the par-three 14th to quickly drop to 2-under par for the day, and holed out with his team-low 1-under par 70 to highlight Tuesday’s action at the Querencia Cabo Collegiate held at Querencia Golf Club.

Jeansonne’s scorecard also showed three birdies, two bogeys and one double bogey as he led the lineup in the final round with the Tigers tying for 10th place overall at 21-over par 873 for 54 holes.

The Tigers also tallied matching scores of 1-over par 72 from senior All-American Zach Wright and junior All-American Brandon Pierce, while freshman Sam Burns counted a score of 4-over 75 as the quartet combined to shoot a second-straight score of 5-over par 289 as a team. Junior Eric Ricard wrapped up the championship with a score of 7-over par 78 in the final round.

Wright was the lone Tiger to crack the Top 20 on the final individual leaderboard as he tied for 18th place on Tuesday after opening the championship with a round of 1-under 70 on Sunday and 2-over 73 on Monday. His score of 70 in the final round moved Jeansonne into a tie for 41st place on the final leaderboard at 7-over par 220 in three rounds.

Pierce and Burns tied one another for 49th place with equal tournament scores of 9-over par 222 when the final scorecards were totaled, while Ricard tied for 60th place at 12-over par 225 for the tournament.

South Florida’s Aksel Olsen outlasted Arkansas’ Taylor Moore, Georgia Lee McCoy and California’s Collin Morikawa for the individual title with a final score of 9-under 204 as he finished one shot clear thanks to his score of 2-under 69 in Tuesday’s action. Moore, who teed off in the final round tied with Olsen at the top of the leaderboard, dropped into a tie for second place with McCoy and Morikawa at 8-under 205.

The Georgia Bulldogs ran away with the team title in the end as they followed their 3-under 281 in the first round and 16-under 268 in the second round with a 1-over 285 in the final round for their winning effort of 18-under par 834 in 54 holes played at Querencia Golf Club. First-round leader South Florida finished 10 shots back in second place at 8-under 844.

The Baylor Bears trailed 13 shots back in third place at 5-under 847, while Pac-12 Conference rivals California and Stanford rounded out the Top 5 in a tie for fourth place at 3-under 849 during the championship.

With two spring events now in the books, the 17th-ranked Tigers will continue their 2016 spring season in three weeks with a trip to Palm City, Florida, to compete at the Valspar Invitational at Floridian being held March 21-22 at Floridian Golf Club. They will then wrap up their regular season April 2-3 with a return trip this spring to Texas A&M’s Aggie Invitational being held at Traditions Golf Club.
