Baseball Featured This Week on Tiger Tracks

BATON ROUGE, La. – LSU Tiger Tracks, a program highlighting various aspects of the university and its athletic department, can be seen at 5 p.m. CT Thursday on Cox Sports Television.

The show, hosted by Jordy Hultberg and Bill Franques, is a weekly 30-minute production featuring interviews with LSU administrators, coaches and student-athletes, along with a look at some of the events and scholarly activity on campus.

LSU Tiger Tracks begins with a report on the LSU Baseball First Pitch Banquet, which featured the “Voice of the Tigers” Jim Hawthorne as the keynote speaker. Hawthorne, who is retiring from LSU after the men’s basketball season, performed a ceremonial “passing of the microphone” to Chris Blair, who will debut as the Tigers’ radio voice for the February 19 baseball season opener versus Cincinnati.

The show continues with interviews from LSU Baseball Media Day, as the Fighting Tigers discuss the upcoming 2016 season that starts in just over two weeks in Alex Box Stadium, Skip Bertman Field.

LSU Tiger Tracks also includes a feature by correspondent Garrett Walvoord on the degree of difficulty involved in the routines of the LSU gymnasts. The sixth-ranked Tigers play host to Arkansas at 7:30 p.m Friday in the Maravich Center.
