TAMPA, Fla. – On day two of the ITA Kick-Off event, the host team, the University of South Florida swept the Tigers in a 4-0 match at their home courts.
After a solid team win Saturday against Mississippi State, the Tigers went to take on the No. 13 team but ultimately fell to the Bulls. With a slow start in doubles, the Bayou Bengals had to come back from behind in the individual matchups. No. 30 LSU was able to hold their own, taking two courts into third sets but wasn’t able to finalize a victory.
“I think South Florida did a good job of coming out really aggressive having a had a long match yesterday,” Head Coach Jeff Brown said. “I thought we responded really well after we got down and we will take some good lessons from today and move on.”
The Tigers will head to Houston Sunday, Jan. 31, to face the Rice Owls in their next dual matchup.
