BATON ROUGE – Former LSU head men’s basketball coach Dale Brown will be the featured guest Tuesday for the January edition of the Johnny Jones Tipoff Luncheon this Tuesday at the L’Auberge Hotel and Casino Baton Rouge.
The monthly gatherings for good food and basketball conversations are presented again this year by Hub International.
The events will be held monthly during the course of the 2015-16 basketball season.
The event will feature Coach Jones speaking about his team and answering questions from the media and audience on hand. Most months, Coach Jones is joined by a guest who will also speak with the crowd and take questions.
Brown coached at LSU for 25 years from 1972-97 leading the Tigers to four Southeastern Conference crowns and coached the 1981 and 1986 LSU Final Four Teams. Coach Jones was a player on Brown’s 1981 team and in the beginning stages of his 14 years as assistant coach under Brown when the team went to the 1986 Final Four as a number 11 seed.
The L’Auberge Hotel and Casino Baton Rouge is located off Nicholson Drive in Baton Rouge and the event will be held at the Bon Temps Buffet. The Buffet is available at 11:30 a.m. and the program begins at 12:10 p.m. The buffet is located on the ground floor of the hotel in the casino area.
