Gymnastics: What?s New for the 2016 Season

BATON ROUGE – Before the fifth-ranked LSU gymnastics team takes on No. 1 Oklahoma in the season opener at 4 p.m. CT Saturday in the Maravich Center, fans should be aware of what is new before, during and after home meets in 2016.

Arrive Early
Coming off the largest attendances in LSU gymnastics history the last two meets of the 2015 season, all fans are encouraged to arrive early and purchase tickets in advance to avoid long lines. Tickets for all individual meets are available now at www.LSUTIX.net or by calling the LSU Ticket Office at (225)578-2184 or toll-free at (800)960-8587.

New Team Introduction
Fans will not want to miss the exciting new team introductions this season. We do not want to spoil the surprise, so fans are encouraged to be in their seat at least 15 minutes prior to the start time of each home meet.

North Stadium Drive Closed To Vehicle Traffic
The section of North Stadium Drive from West Stadium Drive to Fieldhouse Drive will be closed two hours prior to all gymnastics meets for the 2016 season. Only those with Lot 201 or Lot 301 parking permits will have vehicular access to North Stadium Drive. Lot 101 will still be accessible for free parking for all patrons. All other parking lots on campus will remain free and open to the public.

Season Ticket Sales Shatter Previous Record
More than 3,700 season tickets have been sold for the 2016 season shattering the record set in the 2015 season of 2,045. Season tickets are still on-sale for the 2016 season at www.LSUTIX.net or by calling the LSU Ticket Office at (225)578-2184.

More Reserved Seating
The entire 100 and 200 level will now be reserved seating. All general admission (GA) seating will now be only located in the 300 level of the Maravich Center. See the updated Maravich Center Gymnastics Seating Chart for more information.

Maravich Center Entrances
There are four upper concourse entrances open for all home meets (NE, SE, SW, NW). The student entrance is also located on the upper concourse on the west side of the Maravich Center nearest Bernie Moore Track Stadium as it was for the 2015 season. There is also a lower entrance open at the southeast corner of the arena; the special assistance elevator is also located near this entrance.

ADA Shuttle
The Special Assistance Shuttle starts running two hours prior to each gymnastics home meet. The shuttle will pick up in Lot 105 between the Natatorium and the old tennis practice courts, and the shuttle will drop off outside Lot 201. The shuttle will continue to run for one hour after the event. Starting this season ADA parking will be available in Lot 105.
