In the third of a six-part series introducing the LSU softball freshman class, today we get to know infielder Amber Serrett.
Why did you choose to sign with LSU?
A big factor in my decision were all of LSU’s facilities. We have one of the best softball parks in the nation in Tiger Park. Also, the atmosphere of the campus overall felt so welcoming and like home.
What do you like most about LSU and Baton Rouge?
I think the people here are amazing. Everywhere you go there is someone trying to lend a helping hand, and that’s good to see when you’re from another state.
What is your favorite part about being an athlete at LSU?
My favorite part about being in this program is having a staff that cares and wants to help each individual. Everyone is welcoming and easy to get along with.
What are your favorite hobbies outside of softball?
In my spare time I like to spend time with my family and friends. Other than that, I like to read and binge watch TV shows on Netflix.
What is your favorite LSU tradition?
My favorite traditions are anything that surround the football games. The tailgating is fun to just be with your friends and hangout, and there is nothing like a Louisiana Saturday Night in Death Valley.
Why did you choose your uniform number?
Lance Berkman was my favorite Major League Baseball player. He wore #17 when he played for the Astros.
