BATON ROUGE – LSU Athletics, the Southeastern Conference, SEC Network and ESPN announced a series of game time and network changes that will allow LSU fans the opportunity to watch their basketball Tigers play Wake Forest in the Maravich Center prior to the football’s teams bowl game in Houston on Dec. 29.
LSU and Wake Forest will now play on Dec. 29 in Baton Rouge at 6 p.m. CT with the game moving from the SEC Network to ESPNU. The Texas Bowl between LSU and Texas Tech will kick off at 8 p.m. CT.
The basketball game will be broadcast but will only be available locally on the LSU Sports Radio Network on flagship Guaranty Broadcasting affiliate 100.7 FM. Live streaming audio of the game will be available FREE in the Geaux Zone at www.LSUsports.net/live due to this conflict.
This will be the second of two time changes that LSU basketball has upcoming for home games. On Saturday, Dec. 19, LSU will host Oral Roberts in what is now an afternoon game at 1 p.m. that will be televised on the SEC Network. LSU and Vanderbilt swapped game times on that day because Vanderbilt still has final exams going on that day until later in the afternoon.
To move the game on Dec. 29, the SEC and the networks switched the Tennessee State-Tennessee game from ESPNU at 6 p.m. to the SEC Network at noon. Also now, the Robert Morris-Georgia game which was to proceed LSU-Wake Forest on the SEC Network, will now be played at 6 p.m. CT on the SEC Network.
LSU (4-3) resumes play out of the semester exam break on Sunday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. CT on ESPN at Hofheinz Pavilion in Houston against the 5-1 Cougars. LSU then will have three home games prior to Christmas, hosting Gardner-Webb (7 p.m., Dec. 16); Oral Roberts (1 p.m., Dec. 19) and American University (7 p.m., Dec. 22).
