BATON ROUGE, LA- 2016 LSU beach signee Kristen Nuss has been selected as the Gatorade Louisiana Volleyball Player of the Year. She is the third player from Mount Carmel Academy to receive this prestigious honor. The award recognizes not only outstanding athletic excellence, but also high standards of academic achievement and exemplary character demonstrated on and off the field.
Nuss helped lead Mount Carmel to a 40-5 record and a Division I State Championship this past season, where she tallied 571 kills, 625 digs, 55 service aces and 49 blocks while posting a kill percentage of .561 and a hitting percentage of .509. She has also maintained a 4.04 weighted GPA average and has volunteered as a local youth coach and donated her time to community service initiatives.
Nuss joins fellow Tigers Katie Lindelow and Katie Kampen as recipients of this award.
