Tennis Continues Through Home Tournament

BATON ROUGE, La.– The Tigers continued into the third day of the LSU Invitational, Saturday with several teams getting the opportunity to play on both the indoor and outdoor courts.

Senior Boris Arias lead the Tigers with a win over Tulane’s Tyler Schick 6-4, 6-4. Arias and partner Gabor Csonka also picked up a victory against the Tulane duo of Alex and Ian Van Cott with a score of 6-3.

LSU got the opportunity to watch senior Andrew Korinek come back and play after sitting out form an injury. Korinek lost the first set 3-6 but improved in the second, picking up another game but eventually losing 4-6.

“It was nice for Andrew getting to come back after some time off due to surgery,” Head Coach Jeff Brown said. “It was really great to see him play a full match and afterwards he felt good”

The team is looking forward to building on Saturday’s competition in the last day of the tournament. The LSU Invitational will conclude, Sunday with matches beginning at 9 a.m.
