BATON ROUGE, La.– The LSU men’s tennis program announced the singning of Mexico native and five star recruit, Agustin Mereno Thursday.
Moreno is the first member of the 2016 signing class and the son of former top-100 tennis player Agustin Moreno who played in the 1988 Olympic Games. Moreno has been ranked as high as No. 266 in the ITF World Junior rankings with 34 career singles wins and 32 career doubles.
“I’m excited. It’s a great opportunity to play in a new facility with a great group of players and coaches,” Moreno said.
Moreno sees great opportunity in the coaching staff at LSU and under the watchful eye of Head Coach Jeff Brown he seeks to accomplish his goal in developing on and off the court, eventually playing in the professional tour.
