LSU RB LEONARD FOURNETTE COMMENTS FROM TODAY’S MEDIA SESSION
On the jersey auction that fetched $101,000…
“It’s a proud moment for me and LSU to see that we are giving something to help other people. It’s a great feeling. I was concerned about it at first but the NCAA allowed me to do it and it is one of the best decisions that they have ever made. I didn’t have a number in my mind. I was just hoping that it could help the people that were affected.”
On why he chose to auction the jersey off…
“It reminded me so much of Hurricane Katrina and knowing we really didn’t get much help from anyone. God gave me this platform so I should help everyone else.”
On the disappointment from the game…
“It was tough and we wanted to finish the season undefeated. It’s not our last game though. We just have to move on and get ready for Arkansas.”
On bouncing back for the Arkansas game …
“It’s all about preparation. Everything we do as leaders has to be crisp. We have to work on being perfect. It all starts today when we try and make corrections by looking at film from the Alabama game then move on to Arkansas.”
On what Alabama did well…
“Their front seven came out to play and they were focused on stopping the run. They did a great job.”
On his feeling after the game …
“We had a bad game and there is nothing I can do about it. We just have to move on.”
On what the fans should know…
“Everyone needs to know that we are going to come back. Everyone acts like it’s the end of the world but we have three more games to play. The Tigers are going to give it their all these last games.”
On returning to Tiger Stadium …
“It’s a great feeling and there’s no better place to play in the world.”
