BATON ROUGE, La.– After hosting a weekend long event to inaugurate the new LSU Tennis Complex, LSU’s Gabor Csonka went undefeated for the weekend after taking a win over Ole Miss’s Zvonimir Babic 6-4, 2-6, 6-2, Sunday.
“It’s been a really good fall from Gabor,” said Head Coach Jeff Brown. “It’s been great for him to go undefeated this week at the tournament.”
Tam Trinh also got a win for the Tigers against Tulane’s Ian Van Cott 6-3, 6-3. Boris Arias fought hard in a match against Rice’s Jake Hansen but eventually fell 7-5, 5-7, 7-5.
Cameron Andry, after a first set loss of 6-3, had to retire for an elbow injury.
Senior Andrew Korinek played in his second match of the season against Princeton’s Jimmy Wasserman, picking up six games but lost 6-4, 6-2.
“The tournament as a whole, it was very successful for us and as an event all the coaches were very complementary on the facility and the way things went so we look to bring it back here next year and continue to grow the event,” Brown said.
