TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – LSU Men’s Tennis will travel to Tuscaloosa, Alabama, to take part in the ITA Southern Regional tournament and play against schools from Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama.
“The guys that are going are very excited to watch and continue to capitalize on some breakthroughs like we’ve had in Simon, Gabor and Justin,” Head Coach Jeff Brown said. “We are looking to build and continue gain experience.”
Tam Trinh, Justin Butsch, Gabor Csonka, Simon Freund and Cameron Andry will compete in singles over the course of the regional as well as pairing off to make two doubles teams, Trinh/Butsch and Csonka/Freund.
“I’m excited,” Senior Tam Trinh said. “I’m more comfortable now that I’ve got one tournament under my belt in the fall. I’m looking forward to improving and getting more wins.”
Freshman Cameron Andry will kick off singles play for the Tigers against Mikhail Esipov of Southern Miss as well as Csonka and Freund facing the University of Troy’s Poblo Mereno and Giovani Samaha. There will be a first round bye for the rest of the singles players and duo Butsch and Trinh.
