Get To ‘Kneaux’: Randii Wyrick

BATON ROUGE – Entering her senior season in 2016, Randii Wyrick will be counted on for leadership and experience in the lineups.

Wyrick is fresh off a junior season in 2015 in which she tallied her second First-Team All-America honor on uneven bars with a 9.90 at the NCAA Championships Semifinal.

LSU will host five home meets in the Maravich Center in 2016, starting with a bang against national power Oklahoma. The Tigers will also take on Southeastern Conference foes Kentucky, Arkansas, Auburn and Alabama.

Why did you choose LSU?
As soon as I stepped foot on campus, I immediately fell in love. From the academics, to athletics and the unity between fans and students, LSU truly offered the complete package. 

What has been your favorite moment at LSU?
Saturday nights in Tiger Stadium!

What are your goals for the 2016 season?
It’s no secret what my goals are. I want my sisters and I to end the season as national champions.

What have you worked on the most in the gym to prepare for 2016?
We’ve made it a point to focus on being “together” in any and everything that we do. We have incredible talent to showcase, and as long as we’re all moving in the same direction, nothing will stop us from achieving our goals.

Have you checked out the construction of the new training facility? What are your thoughts?
I pass by the construction of the new facility every day and the progress they’ve made is amazing! It makes me truly appreciate all of the hard work and passion LSU Gymnastics has shown in the past, as well as the present.

What do you like most about your hometown?
Who do you know that can say they were born and raised in Las Vegas?

Do you have a talent other than gymnastics? What is it?
I write poetry and have done so since I was 9 years old. 

If the team was to come to your house for dinner, what would you prepare for them? Be honest 🙂
I would cook them pancakes, eggs and bacon. Who doesn’t love breakfast for dinner?

It gives families the opportunity to see great performances from athletes who truly appreciate their love and support. Being able to inspire children by doing what we love has had such a positive impact on our lives.
