Now entering its sixth year, the LSU Track & Field Team Awards and Alumni Recognition Banquet has evolved into a true celebration of the rich history and tradition of the NCAA’s most storied combined track and field program as the Tigers and Lady Tigers welcome their decorated alumni back to Baton Rouge for the festivities.

And the sixth-annual event is no exception as it will feature a 25th anniversary celebration of LSU’s NCAA Outdoor Championship men’s and women’s teams that swept national championships for the second season in a row at the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships. They made history the year before as the first program to sweep outdoor national championships in the same season in 1989.

The sixth-annual LSU Track & Field Team Awards and Alumni Recognition Banquet this fall will also honor the current Tigers and Lady Tigers for their outstanding performances during the 2014 cross country, 2015 indoor and 2015 outdoor seasons, highlighted by the announcements of the Most Outstanding Female Performer Award and Glenn “Slats” Hardin Award winners.

The banquet debuted in 2010 with the goal of honoring the current members of the LSU Track & Field program for their achievements in competition, in the classroom and in the community, as well as recognize alumni who have laid the foundation of success that is enjoyed by the program to this day as the Tigers and Lady Tigers prepare for the 2016 season.
