BATON ROUGE – Highlighted by its first Sunday Funday promotion that will be a featured attraction at the LSU Soccer Stadium throughout the regular season, the LSU Soccer program announced Tuesday its complete 2015 promotional schedule ahead of the team’s home opener against Northwestern State that will kick off at 7 p.m. CT.
Fans can “Geaux Free!” to each of LSU’s 12 home matches during the 2015 regular season as admission is absolutely free at the LSU Soccer Stadium once again this season, compliments of The Advocate.
LSU Soccer Promotions & Giveaways
The Tigers will host five Sunday Funday events during the 2015 regular season as fans who attend all five Sunday matches at the LSU Soccer Stadium this fall will receive a free limited edition LSU Soccer team scarf they can wear and show their support for the program with each match day. Each Sunday Funday features a different family-friendly promotion in conjunction with the match.
Fans can pick up their 2015 LSU Soccer Sunday Funday Pass before kickoff of Sunday’s home match against the Minnesota Golden Gophers as the Tigers will wrap up the “Battle on the Bayou” at 1 p.m. CT.
This week’s match against Minnesota will be Girl Scouts Day at the LSU Soccer Stadium as the team will also host a Kona Ice Giveaway where the first 500 fans in attendance will receive a color changing cup and serving of Kona Ice to beat the heat at kickoff. LSU Inflatables will also be available for all kids 12 years old and under as part of each Sunday Funday promotion.
“Pooch on the Pitch” makes its return as part of Sunday Funday No. 2 when the Tigers play host to the Indiana Hoosiers on Sept. 6 as fans are encouraged to bring their dogs to the game. The first 250 dogs to attend on the second Sunday Funday match day will receive a special LSU Soccer Dog Bandana to show their full support for the Tigers.
After opening up the SEC season on the road at Alabama on Friday, Sept. 11, the Tigers will return home to play host to the Duke Blue Devils on Sept. 13 for Sunday Funday No. 3 as the first 500 fans attending the game will be given their own set of LSU Soccer Trading Cards. Fans will also be invited to take part in a postgame autograph session to be held immediately following the match.
It will also be Mike’s Kids Club Day when the Tigers play host to the Blue Devils on Sept. 13 as all members are invited to take part in a special halftime activity with Mike The Tiger on the LSU Soccer Stadium field.
LSU will wrap up its non-conference season by hosting Big East power Marquette on Sept. 20 as the match features Sunday Funday No. 4 with Picture Day at the LSU Soccer Stadium. The first 250 fans receive their own LSU Soccer picture frame, while all fans will have the opportunity to take photos at the game. The match will also host the very first LSU Dads & Daughters event of the fall semester as members will be invited to take part in a pregame activity along with a postgame Q&A session with a current player and her father.
The final Sunday Funday event will be held Oct. 25 when the Tigers play host to the South Carolina Gamecocks on Senior Night in their final home match of the 2015 regular season as fans are invited to show support to the nine Tiger seniors who will be playing on their home field for the final time. LSU Inflatables will once again be available for all kids 12 years old and under.
Those fans collecting all five stamps on their 2015 LSU Soccer Sunday Funday Pass by attending each Sunday match for the season will be awarded their LSU Soccer scarf at the last home game against South Carolina.
Sunday Funday is not the only promotion that Tiger fans will enjoy this fall as Tuesday’s home opener features a “Welcome Back Students” event in which the first 250 students will be given free pizza and beverages at the match. The first 500 fans attending Tuesday’s match against Northwestern State will also be awarded a free “We Geaux United” gold tank top.
The first 500 fans attending Friday’s match against Western Kentucky on the opening night of the “Battle on the Bayou” tournament will receive a free LSU Soccer Car Magnet for their attendance.
The Tigers are also looking forward to going all out for their fans on the night of Thursday, Sept. 17, when they play host to the Georgia Bulldogs in their SEC home opener that will be broadcast live on the SEC Network. The match will be the team’s “Gold Game” for the 2015 season as all fans are encouraged to wear gold to show their support for the Tigers, and the first 250 fans will receive a free gold “GOAL!” t-shirt.
LSU’s SEC home opener against Georgia will also be the team’s Student Point Night for the 2015 season as all LSU students are invited to attend the match to receive their priority points to be used for football tickets in the fall. The first 250 students attending the match will also be given free pizza and refreshments prior to kickoff.
