BATON ROUGE – LSU sophomore women’s golfer Sydney Cavin of Baton Rouge took home second place in the Southeastern Collegiate Golf Tour’s Hardee’s Collegiate Players Championship which concluded Wednesday at Perdido Bay Golf Resort in Pensacola, Florida.
Cavin posted improving rounds of 74, 73 and 72 to finish the 54-hole event at 3-over par 219, one shot behind Samantha Gotcher of Middle Tennessee State University at 2-over 218 (73-71-74). Cavin was one shot clear of Brittany LaPadula of Florida Institute of Technology.
LSU’s junior Lana Hodge, who transferred to Baton Rouge after two seasons at ULM, finished in 10th in the competition at 13-over 229. The Monroe product posted rounds of 74-77-78.
