SAN ANTONIO – Eight members of the LSU swimming team and three alumni are set to compete at the 2015 Phillips 66 National Championships August 6-10 at the Northside Swim Center in San Antonio, Texas.

“We are excited to head out to San Antonio for this meet,” head coach Dave Geyer said. “This has been our focus all summer. Our swimmers are ready and they will compete at the highest level. They built a great facility there and I think our Louisiana summers will help our athletes adapt to being outdoors.”

Kara Kopcso, Colleen O’Neil, and Caley Oquist all return to the National Championships after a successful meet last year. Danielle Stirrat will make her first appearance at the championships. Stirrat competed in the Commonwealth Games last year.

Kopcso, an NCAA Honorable Mention All-American in the 200 fly, will compete in the 100 and 200 fly. The junior finished second in the ‘C’ final of the 200 fly a year ago. The Mandeville, Louisiana native heads into the meet seeded fifth in the 100 and 10th in the 200.

Oquist holds three school records and has qualified individually for NCAA Championships the past two seasons. The senior will compete in the 100 back, 200 back and 200 IM at the meet. During last year’s championships, Oquist touched the wall third in the ‘B’ final of the 100 back.

Silas Dejean, Brandon Goldman, Garrett House and Logan Rysemus will represent the men’s side at the championships. Dejean will compete in the 100 and 200 breast, Goldman in the 100 and 200 back, House in the 200 breast, and Rysemus in the 100 back and 100 fly.

Craig Hamilton, Amber Carter and Katlin Sepp round out the group headed to the championships. Hamilton was a three-time NCAA All American for the Tigers and will compete in the 200 free. Carter will compete in the 100 fly and 50 free. The recent graduate heads into the meet with the 12th-fastest time of 59.58.
